Washington Real Estate Investment Trust is successfully pivoting to being a pure-play multifamily REIT after disposing of all but one of their commercial properties in 2021. Their focus on multifamily rentals is enabling the REIT to capitalize on double-digit rental rate growth, which remains cemented by its relative affordability compared to outright ownership.
