It invests in public equity markets across the globe, with an emphasis on the United States. The fund seeks to invest in stocks of companies operating in the energy and natural resources sectors. It invests in stocks of companies across all market capitalizations. The fund also invests through equity derivatives, with an emphasis on option writing. It was formerly known as BlackRock Global Energy and Resources Trust. BlackRock Energy and Resources Trust was formed on December 23, 2004 and is domiciled in the United States.
