The company provides vehicle rental services under the Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty brands from company-owned, licensee, and franchisee locations in the United States, Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and New Zealand. It also sells vehicles; and operates the Firefly vehicle rental brand and Hertz 24/7 car sharing business in international markets. Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. was founded in 1918 and is headquartered in Estero, Florida.

Shares of Hertz Global Holdings Inc. HTZ, -2.64% ran up 4.6% in premarket trading Tuesday, after the car rental company reported fourth-quarter profit that dropped from last year, but topped expectations, aided by a post-pandemic demand recovery. The company swung to net income of $116 million from a loss of $710 million a year ago, but reported a per-share loss assuming dilution that narrowed to 1 cent from $1.52.
