The fund normallyinvests at least 80% of its total assets in securities that comprise the fund's benchmark index. The index includes securities of African companies. African companies generally include local listings of companies that are incorporated in Africa and listings of companies incorporated outside of Africa but that have at least 50% of their revenues/related assets in Africa.

Inflation is expected to remain elevated longer in Sub-Saharan Africa than in other regions. The surge in global commodities prices in 2021 gave room to Sub-Saharan Africa countries to adopt fiscal consolidation measures as tax proceeds, particularly from the mining sector, boosted government revenue.

Africa's economic growth may decline from 4.1% in 2022 to 3.8% or lower in 2023, which is well below the growth in years like 2016. The main reason I am hesitant about Africa is that most ETFs have a larger amount of their assets invested in banking and/or mining companies.
